Papaver hybridum - Drama Queen｜ Other Products

Stunning beyond your wildest dreams, Papaver ‘Drama Queen’ opens into lusciously rich ruby blooms streaked with purple and finished with shaggy, ruffled edges. Showy white stamens and a lime green ovary add even more contrast, making every flower look like a theatrical costume designed for maximum applause.

Also known as Drama Queen Poppy, this annual poppy is a spectacular choice for cottage gardens, cutting gardens, spring borders, meadow-style plantings, and romantic seasonal displays. The bold flowers are gorgeous with bachelor buttons, larkspur, nigella, sweet peas, grasses, and other cool-season annuals. Let it weave through sunny beds where the blooms can open in all their wild, ruffled glory.

Plant Papaver ‘Drama Queen’ in full sun with well-drained soil. Like many poppies, it appreciates being sown or planted where it will grow, and it may reseed where happy. Allow some seed pods to mature for future flowers, or cut blooms when just opening for dramatic arrangements. Explore more flamboyant favorites in our Papaver - Poppies collection.
