"Recorded with a friend, made out of coincidence and trust and beautiful feelings." - Omar Rodríguez-López
Full-length collaboration between Omar Rodríguez-López and John Frusciante, i.e. the alt/prog guitar version of Watch The Throne. Both are musical virtuosos with diverse backgrounds and fanatical fanbases. Rodriguez-Lopez, renowned for his groundbreaking work with The Mars Volta and At the Drive-In, brings his experimental and progressive rock expertise while Frusciante, best known as the guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, contributes his unique blend of funk, rock and soul influences. This musical partnership isn't the first for the duo, with Frusc having contributed to The Mars Volta's debut, De-Loused in the Comatorium, as well as Omar's 2004 solo effort A Manual Dexterity: Soundtrack Volume 1. This 2010 full-length showcases a synthesis of their distinct styles, creating a dynamic and genre-defying sonic landscape. With Rodriguez-Lopez's intricate compositions and Frusciante's emotive guitar work, the album promises an innovative journey for fans of both artists. As they continue to evolve individually, this collaboration serves as a testament to the enduring creativity and artistic camaraderie between two influential figures in contemporary music.
