Roland CR-78 CompuRhythm｜ Other Products

Iconic and legendary drum machine for sale serviced, in full working order and very good cosmetic condition.
Demo featuring the actual machine for sale below.
Heart Of Glass, Atomic, In The Air Tonight, Same Old Scene, Enola Gay... the distinctive sound of the CR-78 has featured on hundreds of hit records: a truly iconic beatbox that still sounds good today.
Serviced and working well.
Very good cosmetic condition: there's a ding to the top left front corner of the 'wooden' case and a noticeable chip on the right-hand front edge. The Fill Auto/Manual switch lever is a non-original replacement, but looks the part and works very well. Aside from that, there are the usual minor signs of wear and some yellowing of some buttons. The face is very clean with some small scratches and dings dotted about but nothing major. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.
For sales in UK/EU the price will include VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number - please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.

It is a 100v Japanese model

A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.

We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.

No noisy sliders or pots. It is always possible with vintage equipment that crackly pots/sliders may develop over time when equipment has not been used - even during shipping - this can usually be easily rectified either by a few turns or in extreme cases, with suitable switch-cleaning spray.
The unit for sale plays a small part in the short demo below:

Digging into overdriven distortion with a stack of old reverbs. The verdict? The two channel HR-45 has a real edge (over something like the Fostex above) thanks to its 70s discrete circuitry. It just eats up the extra gain via the mic inputs and spits it back in your face (in a good way). Hear it growl as the input level from the Dato is changed first, and then the fantastic, gritty beat from the CR-78 comes in on the other channel (synced to the Dato via the trigger out). Hawk and CR-78 are listed on the site now. Don't sleep... #datoduo #synthesizer #synthstagram #drummachine #beats #imakebeats #distortion #geartalk #vintagegear
