The American Hero Edition is Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch in a limited label honoring the armed forces, with Heaven Hill's contribution going to a veterans' charity — the same 90-proof bourbon inside. Evan Williams is Heaven Hill's flagship value line, named for the Welsh immigrant who opened Kentucky's first commercial distillery on the Louisville riverfront in 1783, and the second-best-selling bourbon in the world; Heaven Hill has run an annual American Hero Edition for years, each with a different tribute label and a donation tied to sales. Inside is 1783 Small Batch: the Heaven Hill bourbon mash bill of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley, batched from up to 300 barrels with older stock in the blend than the Black Label, and bottled at 90 proof. Bourbon Culture notes 1783 runs sweeter than the Bottled in Bond, likely from the older barrels; The Whiskey Jug's readers keep it on the shelf beside the White Label. Expect the Heaven Hill signature — caramel, vanilla, peanut, and brown sugar — in a rounded, sweet register: honey, dried apple, cinnamon, and toasted oak on a medium body with a warm, moderately long finish. Honest note: the label is the point — it's a gift for a veteran, a Memorial Day or Fourth of July bottle, or a collector's variant of a bourbon you already like — and the charity component is real. For an Old Fashioned, a toast, or neat. 1783, for the heroes.Buy Evan Williams 1783 American Hero Edition Bourbon online with fast shipping right to your door.
