The Flower Show is the heart of the Winchcombe
Country Show. Over its long history, many generations have participated in the show and continue to do
There are a fantastic amount of classes for people of all ages to enter. Please
don’t be shy - you may well have hidden talents. There are over 50 trophies to be won.
This year we will continue the ‘Best Baker’ class for the Victoria sandwich with a
prize of £10. New this year will be Best Baker for three decorated cupcakes (12 years and under) with a prize
of £2 and a cup to be won.
There are a host of other cookery classes to enter, lemon drizzle cake, carrot cake, cupcakes and novelty cakes,
alongside the more traditional jam tarts, scones, fruit cakes and preserves.
The floral art displays remain an important part of the show. Our theme this year will be Best of British and
we are hoping to encourage all ages to participate in floral art and the individual showing of flowers. We
would also like to encourage people who live within 3 miles of Winchcombe to plant up their tubs and hanging
baskets and enter them by 31 July. First prize will be £5.
We had some amazing entries last year in the fruit and vegetable categories and we are anticipating the same at
this year’s show. Start planning now!
There are many arts and crafts classes to enter including photography, sculpture, soft furnishing, embroidery and
many other handicrafts.
Please encourage your children and grandchildren to enter. There are nearly 30 children’s classes to enter
including cookery, flower arrangements, crafts and model making. Paint your tea on a plate or create a
miniature garden and most of all have fun doing it!
We want as many entries as possible so get those creative ideas flowing!
